Vietnam has exported about 3.485 million tons rice in the first six months of the year, up about 2.1% from around 3.414 million tons exported in same period last year. The average rice export price in first six months was around $433 per ton, down about 9% from $474 per ton recorded in same time last year. Viet 5% broken rice is today shown around $370 per ton fob.The government is targeting 8 million tons of rice exported in all of 2013. 

Vietnam has exported about 698,199 tons rice at an average price of about $420 per ton in June 2013, compared to around 648,359 tons of rice exported in May at an average price of about $422 per ton. In June 2012, Vietnam exported around 866,792 tons rice at an average price of about $463 per ton.
 
According to the VFA, domestic paddy prices in the Mekong Delta for common stock stand at around VND 5,200 - 5300 per kilogram (about $241 - $245 per ton, using the current exchange rate), almost unchanged from last week’s price which was recorded around  VND 5,300 per kilogram (about $248 per ton, using the historical exchange rate). 
 
Vietnamese 5% broken domestic rice prices stand at around VND 6,450-6,550 per kilogram (about $299 - $303 per ton, using the current exchange rate),  unchanged from last week’s price of around VND 6,450-6,550 per kilogram (about $301 - $306 per ton, using the historical exchange rate)and 25% broken rice prices stand at around VND 6,100-6,200 per kilogram (about $282 - $287 per ton, using the current exchange rate), almost unchanged from last week’s price of  around VND 6,200-6,300 per kilogram (about $290 - $294 per ton, using the historical exchange rate) . This week, domestic prices in local currency terms are almost unchanged from last week for all type of rice, but in USD terms prices have decreased for all type of rice, due to the declining value of the Vietnamese dong against The U.S. dollar, making Vietnamese rice more competitive in global market.
